Sleep
Sleep is not about relaxing hours,
or even just a break, no. Actually, sleep is a part of life. It’s fundamentally
required for a stable, good, and successful life. Sometimes, we think to reduce
sleep time to improve productivity daily, we spend one-third of life asleep, is
that necessary? Let’s explore what sleep is? Why do we sleep? Is it possible to
reduce sleep time? Can’t we ignore our bodies’ need for sleep? What’s happening
during sleep time? What are phenomena happening during sleep time? We hope to
have an exciting time reading.
·
Sleep,
what is it?
Sleep is a part of the human body (or any other living
being) that can never be separated. According to the National Institute of
Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), sleep is defined to be:
“Sleep is an important part of your daily routine — you
spend about one-third of your time doing it. Quality sleep – and getting enough
of it at the right time –– is as essential to survival as food and water.
Without sleep you can’t form or maintain the pathways in your brain that let
you learn and create new memories, and it’s harder to concentrate and respond
quickly. Everyone needs sleep, but its biological purpose remains a mystery.
Sleep affects almost every type of tissue and system in the body – from the
brain, heart, and lungs to metabolism, immune function, mood, and disease
resistance. Research shows that a chronic lack of sleep, or getting poor
quality sleep, increases the risk of disorders including high blood pressure,
cardiovascular disease, diabetes, depression, and obesity.”
So, it’s still not understandable to
scientists, we just need it to survival. We can simply say, when we are asleep,
we are not awake, our consciousness is absent, but surely our brain is active,
at least, to keep us breathing.
·
Why
sleep?
Sleep is like charging, we get power
through many things, eating, drinking and other sources, sleep is an important
source of energy to keep life stable, we are created with natural need to relaxation,
8 hours of being unawake, or lose active consciousness.

Sleep
stages and mechanisms
Sleep is not just a set of hours,
no, it’s a complicated process, that consists of many stages. Our sleep
consists of two main types, REM and non-REM sleep, non-REM consists of three
subtypes.
1.
1st
stage:
A non-REM
sleep, that lasts several minutes.
2.
2nd
stage:
A non-REM
sleep, your heartbeat and breathing slow, your temperature drops, and eye
movements stop.
3.
3rd
stage:
A non-REM
sleep, your heartbeat and breathing are at their lowest, and your muscles are
relaxed.
4.
4th
stage:
REM sleep,
breathing and heartbeat are very high in this stage.

Sleeping
less time
Sleeping is not just an activity,
it’s as important as eating and drinking, as anyone can’t live without eating,
he can’t also live without sleeping, but how would sleeping well affect our
success, your mind takes advantages of your sleep time to do things that are
necessary for the body to be healthy, such as getting rid of toxic components
of from your mind.
So, sleeping less can significantly
affect your overall health, your mind finds sleep time is a precious time to finish
its priorities, sleeping less than required can let you feel weak, less
energetic, mentally vulnerable.
Of course, a lot of people had tried
to sleep less than 8 hours, as they ask, why can’t we sleep for three hours, or
two hours, but, eventually, they had realized, they have to sleep around 8
hours daily to feel well.
We know that other creatures sleep
schedules are different from ours, some sleep for more than 8 hours, and others
sleep for less than 8 hours, it depends on their active time and other factors,
for sure they were built on that base.
·
Proper
sleep
Sleep is not just an activity as
mentioned above, it’s a typical day priority that everybody needs to be
functioning well. To sleep, you just sleep, but to sleep well, you prepare
yourself and things around you to help you get deep into sleep.
·
Finally
Finally, sleep time is a highly important part of your day, try not to interrupt that time, as that time literally creates – every day – a better version of you, so invest in your health, by getting a scheduled sleep time, just do this regularly, you’ll find your life getting better a day after another.
Good job my friend:))
